Description
Planning and creating a lapbook from scratch can be labor intensive, so we’ve taken the guesswork out of the gymnosperm section of your biology studies! The Fascinating Gymnosperm Lapbook is completely planned out and all that is left is the cutting and pasting. So easy!
Why a Lapbook?
Lapbooks are awesome interactive support tools. They are great for reluctant learners or for children who can’t write or have a difficult time writing. Because lapbooks are fun and interactive, kids like to take them out and look at them and play with the flaps and pullouts. An added bonus is being able to review material long after the end of the study unit!
Contents of the Fascinating Gymnosperm Lapbook download includes:
- 22 pages of colorful, interactive, and informative design elements all gymnosperm related.
- Instructions with photos showing how to create the layout of the lapbook.
- Each page has instructions to cut and assemble the design elements.
- Icons show exactly where to paste each design element.
This resource is for students in grades 4-6, as well as special needs learners.
Putting grade levels on subject matter is difficult because all students are different. I know a group of third graders who have done well with this material, as well as some high schoolers who supplemented their 9th grade Biology studies with the Fascinating Gymnosperm unit.
The Fascinating Gymnosperm Lapbook for Special Needs Learners
Special needs learners do well with lapbooks at all ages because of the hands-on, tactile interaction. The repetition and review of facts, without pages of writing and worksheets, creates a fun learning experience. I have personal experience with the benefits of lapbooks. My 14-year old (PWS) does better when there is more than reading, facts, and science labs. Lapbooks add that extra dimension he needs for material retention, and for later reviews.
