Description
Frightful’s Mountain, is the third book in the survival trilogy. Books one and two include My Side of the Mountain and On the Far Side of the Mountain.
Sam Gribley, a city boy who is living off the land in the Catskill mountains, saves a peregrine falcon. After he has already bonded and raised her to hunt for him, he learns that it is illegal to keep an endangered bird. He is required to release her but Frightful is not prepared to live on her own. She lacks knowledge to raise and feed a family. Her instincts are pulling her south to migrate but so are the instincts to find ‘her mountain’ the one where Sam lives.
Frightful’s Mountain is a delightfully, suspenseful story about the force of nature and Frightful’s reintroduction into the wilderness. Boy and bird and offers an insight into the now, protected Peregrine Falcon species, poachers, and falconry.
