By Andrew ~ A Cat Tailer is a lightweight, Bluetooth tracker that allows you to track your cat. We have a thirteen-year old cat, named Midnight, who sometimes gets confused and can’t find her way home. Our vet calls these senile moments. We also think her vision is cloudy. Each time we decide that she is blind, she surprises us. The times when Midnight has been lost for several days were very hard on her, and us! But now, with the Cat Tailer she can’t get lost anymore.

Why we like the Cat Tailer
We tried several real-time trackers but we like the Cat Tailer the best. Since Midnight is petite and weighs about 7 pounds, we needed a very small and lightweight tracker. Real time trackers were too large and heavy for her. The Cat Tailer measures just over an inch and has a small battery cell inside. The battery lasts about six months. You can tell when the battery needs to be changed, either by the tracker’s blinking red light or a notice on the app. The Cat Tailer is waterproof and attaches to a collar.
Cat Tailer – To Track Your Cat App
We downloaded the Cat Tailer app. It alerts us as soon as Midnight wanders off and leaves the range – which is approximately 100 meters. The app’s distancing can also be switched to measure with feet, but we have become use to recognizing meters. When Midnight has been out of range, we know to call or go look for her. She’s a cat – they don’t like to come when called. They also don’t like to be found. She looks surprised when we find her, unless she is lost, then she looks confused and relieved at the same time.
How to Use the App
We don’t have to look for Midnight often because we make sure she stays in range. But when we do search for her, we take our phone and follow the distancing on the app. When the phone picks up the signals from the collar, we follow the range. As long as the meters are getting smaller, we know we are on her tail – I mean trail! We have lots of woods around us and have not had a problem in the forest or bush.
We have used the Cat Tailer tracker for two years. In the past, we have always wondered what happened when our pets didn’t come home. I don’t think we will ever have another pet without a Cat Tailer.
Additional note from Mom
Andrew’s right, we could not live with out a Cat Tailer. It is the smallest tracker currently offered. We had trouble with the real-time trackers. They were cumbersome, a subscription was needed, and phone service didn’t work well in woods. The idea of a map with a blinking light to show the location of a pet seemed ideal, but in reality did not work for us.
